Watched : Night at the Musuem

This is a holiday film so the fun is rather good and clean.

Ben Stiller is Larry. A divorced parent who, well, is trying to make it big without much success (I can, well, rather to that). Desperately needing a job to pay off the rent and to stop moving for the sake of his son, he eventually goes to a manpower agency to get a job.

And he was assigned to be a night watchman at the musuem.

Little did he know the job is More Tougher than he believe.

On some accounts, this movie reminds me of Jumanji. It's a good movie. Just don't expect anything really new or original.

EOY '06

Actually there isn't much thought to share. I wrote some on sgcafe regarding the event and regarding the lack of tact by Luel during in her presentation. If people are curious to see what kind of thing I wrote, go to the forum and read. If they want to discuss, do just comment this entry itself, there's room enough for anything.

Here's a lowdown on the Good and the Bad:

The Good
- Booth arrangement. Makes the venue bigger than last year for people who wants to view whatever on stage.
- Variety of booth and organisation is neat.
- UV chop. Make life easier for everyone.

The Questionable?
- Luel dishing out dirt and hurling at the floor. There's no point telling the audience about how most of her friends felt about photographers. It especially unfunny since the floor audiences could be just friends of cosplayers and knows nothing about the whole COSPLAYER VS PHOTOGRAPHERS. Also she didn't realised the butt of the joke is actually OUTSIDE. She isn't 100% wrong but she made a folly of herself since no one reacts. Maybe she tries too hard to be funny but being funny isn't about pumping irons using force. Take a look at SK. She almost fell into his calibre that day.

The Bad
- There's a lack of participation from cosplayers I guess. However those who got called on stage are caught off guard. I really felt that those who made an effort ought to try go on the stage. You are not there to compete. You are there to assure yourself you are not CosTARD.
- Voting are not clearly given choices. The girls manning the booth are chatting and those cosplayers are clearly standing there to block the booth. Nice try people. Luel, I finally realised I can answer one of your RANTING on stage. FF VII AC won by a big margin because there's a whole lot hoarding the area at the voting booth. Whatever their intentions are, I dunno. Neither am I trying to imply that FF VII AC won that way. They are good. Clearly entertaining.

And The UNFORTUNATE
- The 8bit FF Group. I don't know why the girl cried. The skit isn't all bad however that idea just didn't cut it for Live Theatre. Better luck with it on a FLASH MOVIE (which I believed the skit is based on) or a Youtube Video (meaning Homebrew).
- The Oruchimaru that got away. He didn't turn up for the Prize Presentation segment.
I am not too sure why he didn't turn up. Will he win a prize if he did???I am not too sure but he certainly can contest that Edward that won. Look at his accessories!!!The tongue!!!The snake!!!The sword!!!And he is scary!!!!What is the Edward about other than he is SHORT??? Ok Ok, I understand. I run popularity polls on sgcafe.

And the usual.

Thanks for the gang that turns up on EOY'06 so that it wouldn't be a couple of goons going for an event not particularly relevant to themselves.

Thanks for the lovely leader, Vanilla, who once again grace us with her presence.

And Cloud_tidus. If you are joining a group, it's easier to inform the leader or someone via pm,sms, msn you are going to show you are sincerely joining up.

And to Lenne and Inuran, hey great cosplay! Hope to see you girls at the next event!

And to Sk.........you want my past issues of Men's Health???Retribution comes when you keep laughing at people that are different. Tuck in that stomach, Soldier!!!!

And to Inova......u SUCK!!!!u Beng Wannabe. Haha.

And to Shuuichi.....wow!!!!I cannot recognise you!!!LOL.

And to Thanks to yuki, the real one who is doing all the work.

A Battle of Wits (Mo Gong)

Mo Gong is a manga to movie project helmed by HK producers.
However like Initial D, it's one of those projects that almost seems to be dead since there was ZERO news after acquiring the rights for sometime.

And damn right time this movie is ever relevant (If I am not wrong, it was more 10 years since the project was announced)with all that chaos running all over the world.

Andy Lau stars as Ge Li (the character is botak in the manga), a mohist who arrives at Liang to save the city from Zhao's Invasion during the troubled times of Warring States Periods of China.

However his arrival wasn't too welcome, especially when the King of Liang has decided to bow down and surrender. Met with distrust at first, Ge Li proved his worth after putting down siege after siege. However as time goes by, Ge Li found himself in a dilema as the savagery of war takes form and goes against the ethnic of his Learnings. Lack of the tactful social skills and too bounded by the rules of Mohism, Ge Li not only lose trust from his very employer but also lost the woman he love.

The movie has the essense of a thoughtful anti-war film however within the execution comes some flaws that almost marred the beauty of it:

- Dancing Zhao Troops in the fire trap. It's probably the most horrifying and moving (via shock) scene in the movie, if it's not for the extras thinking they were playing drunken pirates in a celebration scene in PoTC.

- Fan Bing Bing's Yi Yue. Bold passionate Female General or lust-filled Female General? It doesn't helps when it's Fan BingBing.

- Guys!Guys!!!Don't talk so close to each other!!!It didn't help when that Brokeback Mountain was shown this year and still fresh!!!!!

Despite the drawbacks, Mo Gong is the most enjoyable period movie made by Chinese filmmakers (come on lah. HK is part of PRC) this year. It's a honest film without resorting to cheesy artsy fartsy acting and poke your eyes out special effects. The costumes were practical looking enough (althought the traveller garb Ge Li appeared in is so "jedi").

Banquet?Curse of the Golden Armour?Man those are made for Ang Mohs. Mo Gong is something that is for everyone.

Just another personality quiz

Testriffic.com

why isn't there a thinking horndog result???

WaTched

Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny

It's a buddy movie. Starring Jack Black and Kyle Gass in a semi-fictional version of their Band and life.

It's nothing amazing just that it's almost like a musical.

Meatloaf and Dio cameos but the buck is paid for Tenacious D's music. You can't tell if the movie is to plug in their music or the music is plug in to sell the movie.

Open Season

It's another buddy movie. Not as "dangerous" as Happy Feet.
Switch off your brain and enjoy the jokes. Althought it's naughty to say nuts in front of children.
LOL.

Watched: Happy Feet

Happy Feet

Emperor Penguins required a unique heart song to seek their soul mate.
However Mumble ,due to an accident (or rather the negligence of Memphis his father), is born tone-deaf but he had an amazing ability to tap dance. Whereas others uses singing to convey their inner emotion, Mumble dances.

However he was regarded a freak and was quickly outcasted by his community and was distanced by his father (due to his father's own guilt). He wasn't alone despite this, having his mum Norma Jean and Gloria his childhood sweetheart by his side (who incidentally named Mumbles).

In the graduation porm, Mumbles was isolated to an iceberg after repeatedly disrupting the party with his singing (kinda of a banshee shriek) when he cannot contain himself.

The next morning he awakes to be attacked by a seal. After successfully made the seal retreated, Mumbles was jointed by the Amigos of the Adelie. Whereas outcasted by his own, Mumbles was regarded absolutely cool by his ability to dance and his rather daredevil ways. That of course Amigos are misfits too (or perhaps lazy. They refuse to find a mate via collection of love stones for nests)

During a 'body surfing' trip, Mumbles noticed a Crane (Machine. Not animal).
And that probes him to find some answers as he had heard of 'aliens' stealing all 'their fishes'.

His quest for answers lead him to Lovelace. A rockhopper penguin with a six pack ring on his neck. He was chased away by Lovelace when Lovelace avoid the questions about the 'aliens'.

Mumbles returns to the Emperor penguins but only to be banished forever because of his happy feet behaviour causes the younger penguins to follow suit. The Elders blamed him for the lack of fishes. Mumbles didn't want to be a scapegoat and vows to bring the truth back.

Mumbles return to find Lovelace chocked with the plastic ring. Determine to help Lovelace and uncover the truth, Mumbles took Lovelace and the Amigos on a journey to a human colony.

Mumbles finally saw the humans. Instead of getting rid of himself the crime he was accused of and return to the Emperor Penguin Community, Mumbles seeks to resolve the issue. He gave chase to the ships into the open sea but to no avail.

Drifted and beached, Mumbles was taken to a Zoo. Depressed and lost, Mumbles is also losing his identity. Until one day, he realised his Happy Feet behaviour caught the hearts of the Humans.

Eventually this led to his release and he returned to Antartica and his home.

Mumbles eventually went into a showdown with the Elders and reunited with his family and his love Gloria.

The whole penguin tribe dance and finally made the Humans stop stealing the fish from the Antartica.

A wonderful ending isn't it???

Or not???Because the enviromental message somehow comes along twisted. Ironically the Penguins are not in anywhere close to "THREATEN" even. Actually if I start seeing animals behaving out of the norm, I likely bulldoze their homes and capture them to make sure they are not diseased (and the disease is not HAZARD LEVEL). Strangely......the dancing portion is kind of Charlotte's Web (AKAN DATANG on your screen soon).

Also this movie question blind faith (which is good) but I just hope that children will not mimic Mumble's

"Don't ask me to change Pa. I can't."

if they are asked to stand in line.

Wat's your seduction style?

Stolen it from someone I dunno's LJ (hell I hate that word)

Soukou no Strain Ep 1

If I didn't notice it carefully, I might have mistook it to be another Sunrise Mecha offering.

However it isn't.

Episode 1 opens to a girl sending off her Ace Pilot Brother off in front of her parents' grave. He promised her he will be back but the girl knows it's not possible since it's a few hundred lightyears away. She probably be dead before he came back.

She promised to look for him in the stars and thus this is how the story begins.

Hmmm. I smell a twist coming from a zillion lightyears away.

Jump forward years later, Sara (oh. Hi. Ain't that so familiar) is training hard to be a Strain pilot just like her brother did. She is so into getting reunited with her brother. Haha. Oh well. School is fun especially when you ACE in class and had close friends.

One night, while practising box step (i think that's what they call it) with a boy who had hots for her (but obviously she had her minds elsewhere. Like a few hundred lightyears away. No prize guessing why she is dancing) , the Imperials (oh Wow. How familiar) attacked the Academy.

Sara took off on in her Strain to fight off the invaders. All is well when a mysterious Black Strain flew in and slaughtered her 3 best friends. Before she could react, the Black Strain took her down.

Slightly injured, Sara crawled out from the wreckage. Spotting the Black Strain parking on the side, Sara went after for the pilot to avenge her friends. When she finally caught up with him, she caught face to face with the very reason she was in the academy for.

Her brother.

He didn't acknowledge Sara, like she was a total stranger. The strange girl he took from the stasis in the academy smile at him as he cradles her in him arms. Looks like he got what he came for (and obviously he didn't came back for you, Sara)

Ralph Werec, brother of Sara, took off into the night with his Strain.
Sara gave chase with questions all over in a borrowed Strain from a reisner (pilot) who apparently never made to die it to die fighting.
Ralph found the trailing Strain to be a nuisance and got rid of Sara.
Sara took a fall once again on the same night.

And this time it wouldn't be the same.

A very promising 1st episode despite the cliches that surfaces. Part of my mind is on whether we be continuing the Academy Part for a few episode before something happens.
Hell no. Apparently the writer is in a hurry. He even murder 3 named characters all at once just before we starts to know them (they spend a good 10mins or so, trying to set them different).

Tarot quiz

You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

[DOA] Death or Alive

Question: Is a video game inspired movie any good???

Answer: Watch the movie. Like it or not, there's no point whining.

DOA isn't faithfully following the videogame. Which is why it's a better situation.
Corey Yuen probably asked the script writer to watch an 80's/90's HK action flick and show them his action pieces and asked them to write it that way. Who needs story when it's a popcorn flick. Sit back and relax. The video gaming otakus will probably complain anyway so why not just appeal to rest of America. I mean the rest of B-grade viewers.

With every fucktard wise guys to write twists and turns here and there, what's a better remedy to self than watching a straight to back ending???

Everything looks so wrong in DOA but it's not a bad movie when you don't concern with the purist thinking of the otaku. Loosen up man. In fact some people asked:

Why can't they cast AV chicks???They look tonnes better than Devon Aoki

My answer is a question, my friends, WTF why didn't Tecmo just commission an Cosplay AV instead???

Think about it.

Flushed Away

The story is simple but Flushed Away is entertaining watch.
Hmmmm.....why does it sounds like A GOOD YEAR????

Anyway they just love to dig at Hugh Jackman for doing Wolverine. There's a scene where Roddy had to decide which suit to wear. Elvis or Wolverine? LoL.

Slugs are the chief fillers for the movie and almost stole the whole show.

Time proving again that you really need something behind the main story to keep it from being too cold. It's a CGI movie thing I guess.

Playing : Mai-Otome: Otome Butou Shi

A fighting game that consist of Mai-Otome goodness???

Definately not. The Fight Engine is wose than Psychic Force and the gameplay can stretch but the bonus is coming in fast enough to hold my attention down. Will I spent another 1 hour on it???

Probably not.

But there are some really neat extra waiting to be unlocked so if you are a real fan , you shouldn't be complaining (I do since I am a fighting game fan too. Press Circle x4 and once guage is full, get into position and press Triangle. Oh damn. )

Here a tip for 3 seconds of cheesiness. Just play with the vibration option in the option menu. LOL.

Watched : Nihon Chinbotsu

Having watched the classic movie, I guess the remake will be okay. Oh well.

Nihon Chinbotsu starts with a town that was ravaged by earthquake. A lone survivor, a young girl wandered down the road. Toshio, climbing out from his car, spotted Misaki, the young girl from afar. He noticed the fuel tank of a neighbouring car is leaking badly with the fuel gushing over all over the road. Misaki in a daze is still heading down that stretch. Toshio shouted out but sensing she wasn't paying attention. He started to run towards her.

Just then, the ground rumbled. It's another tremor!

A electric post fell and instantly, Misaki is surrounded by flames.
Just then a search and rescue officer came in on a copter and hauled Misaki up.
Suddenly the cars nearby exploded.
The rescue officer came out from the flames with Misaki in her arms.

This is the best part of the movie actually, IMO.

The movie came out unfocused actually. The romance is kind of broken and like some of filler or interruption because the sinking itself is boring. It's beautiful and majestic but there's no flavour to it. You feel no pain or sense of lose for the events. They forgot the drama in between.

I am not really disappointed with it. I might be more disappointed if I watched Death Note.

The nice part is the science behind the sinking. It makes sense and I appreciate that part very much.

Oh and if people think Sinking of Japan is a flop. It's not.
It should be popular since on the same year, a movie called "Sinking of everything except Japan".
I think it's a MUST WATCH (note: when d4 jio you a movie, you better think twice. He loves bad cinema.)

Eureka Seven Vol.1 New Wave

http://bandai.namco.com/games/eureka.html
http://eureka-game.net/newwave/index.html <---- Japanese The American Edition is out but regretfully like all other anime titles, the OP sequence is a musical rather than a vocal track. Mecha combat in New Wave plays like Gundam Tactics except you get to change mode from vehicle to humaniod. There's also the Lifting game (airborne surfing in E7) and a personal mode where you had to fight outside the LFO (harsh but not surprising since MSG: OYW features a stage where you play a security officer on the White Base fighting off Zeon invaders). The game plays like an anime with you spending more time watching than actually playing. Ep 1 (stage 1) takes a long time but luckily save sessions comes often so you can go throw your Ben&Jerry once you finished it. Ep 1 is basically an extended tutorial with storyline. The LFO fights are easy since opponents are basically on the same class with you and the Map is roomy small and comfortable to fight in. Currently finished Ep 2. The game gets a straight away boost in difficulty as you had to handle more than 4 or 5 opponents all at once with lock on missles and coming at you at all angles. You also get to team up with Cpt. Holland of SOF (yes. Holland of Gekko State). The game is nothing special or really new apart that TR1: New Wave (that's wat they called it in Japan) is designed by the original crew who made the Anime which is a plus. While being a prequel, it didn't make a different from playing any other Mecha Sims/Shooter except it's 80% narration and the rest...game. The only part is that if there's a Situation mode where you can have a bit more action but it wouldn't do much other than unlocking more situation scenarios. Get this game if you like Eureka 7 very much and would like to fully enjoy the next game, Tr2: New Vision which is a direct sequel. Here's the trailer (with Realise by Flow) for the Japanese edition. Game looks more fun on trailer than playing it myself. Strange.

Watching : The Departed

So how much did The Departed depart from Infernal Affairs???

Not really much.
Other than moving the storyline to Boston.
Combining 2 characters into 1 so it can be more focused.
Removing the ingenius portions of undercover to normal in the pocket cellphone communications.

The tightness of Infernal Affairs is replaced with a more indepth view of the characters.
Jack Nicholson is more like a dominating rockstar than a fearless mob boss.
Leonardo DiCaprio is less insecure and always on the titters but not to the sense almost psychotic like Tony Leung's.
As per to Matt Damon, his Colin Sullivan is perhaps on the edge to the extend maybe his sex life is affected. However he seems to be prepared for whatever he had done. Andy Lau's is more of a confident guy until in Part III.

The Departed is more or less a good gangland film if it wasn't a transcript from Infernal Affairs.

The movie is weird in a sense that there's a TOKEN black guy. WTF you need to have a TOKEN and killing him in the END? It makes no sense.

Trying to link the 2 protagonist to a single woman (boyfriend vs the fling) was interesting concept but it didn't boil down to being as intense as it should be. (We never know whose baby it was. Could be Costigan's). It's also interesting to see that an act of guilt (of being discovered) turns out to be quickly recovered as an excuse to block off responsibility of your own action.

The Departed turns out to be relatively funny. I wonder if it's the effect of being a juvenile adult who laughs at every "fuck" uttered on screen.

Should you watch The Departed???
I don't know.
It's a good movie but somehow you just keep thinking about Infernal Affairs.

"Go fuck yourself."
"I am tired from fucking your wife."
"How's your mother?"
"Good. She's tired from fucking my father."

Best piece of dialouge in a meeting room. LOL.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

I wanna go fast!

Another Will Farrell lead movie that's a laugh a minute.
Unlike Anchorman where the movie falls between Terribly Funny and Funnily Absurd, Talladega Nights try to be spaced out funny so you don't really get hammered drunk by the jokes in one go.

The plotline is simple. Golden Boy loses shine and bounce back after he realised he can be a better person. It's the same premise in fact a with most Hollywood Comedies.

Ricky Bobby is the Star of Nascar.
"If you ain't first, you are last."
That's his motto.
Together with his buddy Cal Naughton Jr, they dominate the track.
Ricky coming in first and Cal second. (You get the picture)

Enter Jean Girrard, French F1 driver (Nascar....is NOT really fast compare to F1) and a gay. The Sportsman Rival to Ricky Bobby....and probably...has more than just Competitive Passion with Ricky Bobby.

Ricky Bobby tried to take down Jean Girrard on the track and failing to, paid the hefty price of losing his guts, fame and family.

Enter the father who didn't see him for 25 years. A racer himself, Reese Bobby tried to bring Ricky Bobby back to the road and onto the track.

Of course you can smell the ending miles away but it's a great movie.
If there's a movie you ought to watch this weekend, it's this one (following after The Departed? LOL)

Remedial Training

7th had a record on the haze.....

but 8th Morning is the clearest morning I woke up to.
I was hoping the PSI goes to the extend RT is CX.

Damnit.
I took 10 and overshot.
Overshot and back still early.
I AM NOT EAGER.

Saw Loh CS at the RT.
He also 1st time. LUcky.
At least got someone I know there.

First day not so bad lah but the OC confirm love his gym sessions.
He thot us something I know but dunno how to explain which is the shortcut to doing chin up.

Second day is practical. Meaning we be doing the actual stuff. GYM is xiong depending on which side on your preference and where the PTI is standing. Your preference means whether you want to cheat on yourside and not do the best you can.
Running too. There's hint on broadjump too.

I think I need to work on my 'core energy' since it's not emphasis upon in the RT.
Haha.

John Tucker Must Die

http://www.myspace.com/johntucker

Wow. A myspace. I didn't know they are that budgeted....(not.apparently a marketing ploy to reach to their audiences).

Anyway, John Tucker is quite a soul-less movie.
It ended up being a feature film to sell Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker) rather than a chick revenge flick. Ended with everybody won ending which can only happens in chick flicks. The movie wants to be deep but end up shallow (like MY Super EX-Girlfriend).

Shimotika Sundays

http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/shimokita/

Yes. I am watching it strictly because Ueto Aya is inside.

Yup it's another of those occupational/hobby drama where some knowledges can be imparted. This is one about stage performances (play).

Aya-chan plays an undergrad who's from the countryside. She doesn't smile and seems happy until Shimotika Sundays gatecrash the Freshman Speech and that eventually finding her true destiny on the stage.

She had an awful haircut for ep2 but it tones down to acceptable at the end of the series. Not a very recommended series but Shimokita Sundays is lovable and enjoyable nevertheless.

The Theme song is also great. Aya-chan's latest single collection album had her singing a version of it too.

Little Miss Sunshine
http://www2.foxsearchlight.com/littlemisssunshine/

I love road trip movies as there are seldom any sequels involved. There's always a start and an end and very often humourous and enlightening.

Road trip movies always involved a bunch of people (or sometimes a pair) journeying together. Sometimes they love each other and sometimes they don't (or complete strangers). You can say there's no choice (or escape) from each other. Maybe they didn't all get all what they want but in the end and often end up with something more than what they bargained for.

Little Miss Sunshine is about a dysfunctional family involving:
- A start-up Father trying to sell his motivational program (9 steps to be a winner)
- A gay uncle who is just attempted suicide over a failed relationship
- A son who just stops talking
- A grandpa whose tips to the grandson is "Fuck a lot of women". He snorts heroin.

Just add in the hysterical mother and the beauty queen aspiring daughter and we are done!

So what's the journey for?
To enter Olive (the daughter) in the Little Miss Sunshine finals.

And so the whole family packed themselves onto the Volkswagon m

It's a great little movie and maybe slightly overhyped (or under. Depends on how you look at it) but nevertheless it's funny and endearing and perhaps you learn something at the end of this movie.

Watching....

Suppli
http://www.fujitv.co.jp/suppli/index2.html

Whatever drama I am watching recently is from a manga?
Suppli is another occupation drama.
This one involves TV Advertisement (or CMs in Japan). The world of 15 seconds.

It's stars Itoh Misaki who dwarfs most of her male co-stars when she had the heels on (or off. You don't get woman that tall to star in J-drama usually.LOL)
Previously noted for dwarfing the Densha Otoko.

And Kamenashi Kazuya (of Kat-tun. Those Johnny created male groupies.) as a part-timer/office boy.

It's a nice office themed drama with everything almost focused in the office setting.
There's the complex In-office relationship between the characters which of course makes the otherwise rather "focused" (very focused on Itoh and Kamenashi's characters) drama to be slightly relaxed (which otherwise is the charm of Japanese Drama. Unlike Sg made or k-drama).
Suppli also tried to introduced the world of CM production to viewers, which is very informative too.

Itoh Misaki is more lovely and real over in Suppli compare to the dream-like woman in Densha Otoko. And there's the funny 4 panels that comes to her mind whenever she is considering some of her personal (romance) things. Which shows....CM is never off her mind???

A note to be taken........there's no picture of Kamenashi on the official website......AT ALL. Weird huh???Is it a Johnny's thing??????
But that's good because you get lotsa Itoh's.......*drools*

Counting down

Counting my days till it's over.

"Our company is reviewing our business strategy everyday."

You know that's the funniest thing I ever heard from a manager. I mean if you want to say

"Hey we need to pull out before we lose more money".

I think it's fine. But

"Our company is reviewing our business strategy everyday."

sounds like it's a plan that was made when Andy is squatting in the toliet bowl and Chan went ,

"Hey we need to pull out before we lose more money".

outside the door.

Whatever it is, it means I never be able to rat on the Pro-Titster.
Anyway that bugger became worst like some menopause bitch after he heard the news.
He say Jess got a better offer and when she left to work for Christine, he say he is still getting the same so WTF do they think he is. Wow.
That's a bottle full of bullshit.
WTF do you think you are????
Come on and be realistic and do your job and probably people will just give you the reward.
Be a prissy and a bitch, they just pay you to tide things over. You just know.
Fuck and get over with. Like a whore.

Everything becomes a rush because someone is being a bitch. Ok lor. So be it. I will do it.
You are paid 30% more than me and yet I got to clean after you.
God Bless You on your new job.
I hope.
Because I'm so afraid that you might be a real net addict and then. Stop working altogether
(oMG I'm so mean).

Anyway now I am at CTP. Wow. This place is like heaven. All I need to do is to serve customer and not worry a shit (or until I got lay off)

Speaking of which......I am so tired!!!!!And 8th of Oct is coming and I hardly work out yet....LoL.

Anime Now & Dali Sculptures (17.09.06)

Pray tell, am I an exciting arts person or a boring arts person?

I think I am a boring arts person since I dragged a couple of people to a dull Anime art exhibition. Lucky for some others, they managed to escape this fate due to oversleeping, homework and other commitments I don't know and don't want to know.

Anime Now is an anime exhibition showing drafts, cels, posters and merchadise. There's a great video on Cel animation that is likely comes bundle with the Jin Roh DVD but WTH since I am there might as well watched it. There's also one with a stakeout on pirated anime goods in HK sometime back 2002. Video on Akiharaba the Holy City of The Otaku (not exactly...haha). Co-Co did an awareness drive in a corner with a scrath built Destroy Gundam. Then there's screening of videos of the various studios. Anime is hardwork. I wonder if Singaporean can take upon this kind of task.

After Retsu came we went to that prata shop with the "BEST SERVICE" in Middle Road.
As usual, prata is served but not without issue. Of course. Not at the best speed. Beats the other time round however.

Crossing the junction to meet Chrno_jing and her group. LoL. But before that Retsu met a gal from NP or NYP. That joker only got $5 note and he donate it!!!!(He actually want to ask if we want to contribute together???). End up tsukikage and me chip in more to get a magnet photoframe (Enquire for it!!!!!Write in!!!SMS!!!!Only 1 and laying around at home!!!!)

Went to UOB Building at Shenton way.

Other than the Tribute to Newton, there are 4 more sculptures to view over there. That's the 1st stop. Here's the photographs, taken with my helpless little Panasonic VS2 camera.

Tribute to Newton

Surrealist Piano

Unicorn

It's kinda funny when you see a kid sitting on the "virgin" and stepping her all over.
It's US$480,000 for goodness sake!!!!!

Horse Saddled with Time

Space Elephant

Due to limited access to the side entrances, I am unable to view Woman Aflame upclose.

Next we took a hike to Capital Tower.

Dance of Time II

St.George And The Dragon

oh and the security was about to come over...

The fountain art work in front of Capital Tower (Not Dali)

Finally we are suppose to end the day with dinner but in the end kind of zombie and end up at Chinatown and parted there (w/o dinner).

I still left the 3 other sculptures at Orchard Road yet to view. Ah well, I am going to move into CTP anyway, I think I will take a look at them during break.

For the Salvador Dali Sculptors, they will be on display till Oct 14. View it since it might be long before you can view them over here in Singapore.

d4thday is bored. So he bitches about the silly happenings in Sgcafe

Sgcafe is a gate of order and chaos.
Really.
Sometimes it's orderly chaos (like those silly flames of bad blood, vengence and plain annoyance) or chaotic order (the usual strings of posts in TCSS).

d4 had nothing much to blog. His hobby is mundane and everyone wrote the same old thing, offering nothing new.

d4 isn't a creative force. He is an end user. Thus he has nothing blog about his works.

d4 had done nothing to make his parents proud and done nothing to make anyone worried.

So dollar contribution today is about the forum. God. d4thday wrote enough garbage in there to fill up this blog and the next one.

But today d4thday decide to write about someone else's idea but he is too shy to write to that person in his face because d4's guts is yellow and he is definately with the hamtaro (I am his cousin hamchi).

There's this silly thread in the cosplay thread that want iamcow to be banned. Oh wow. Must be one of his seriously left-overed rivals when he was with his alleged "Cheating" girlfriend episode. However given his serious attitude to win in arguement online, I reckon it can be anyone. Except me. I am one of the ELDER ONES (translated in Cthulu Mythos reads: Mad Fucking Left-over that just don't die).

Anyway there's improvement to STAC on the dicussion with photographers thanks to i*mcow but ya there's the real stale shit restirred for the nth time and amidst all these his agenda eventually changed to the obvious (Exclusive exception to your frigging rules STAC). Read thread 1430520 post number 176. If his camera requires to be viewed, HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE CHECKED. WELL THANKS ALOT wiseguy. We will be seeing some photographers be sent out this EOY because he is a mule trying to emulate a cow.

Oh and there's the COSPLAY THIS CAN? topic. Some idiot wants to cosplay an online buzz (read HOT this month, next month forgotten) who sent his video to youtube playing canon with his guitar. Sure it owns you but it's silly. You are just another guy with guitar. You think a cosplay event is a jamming session. Come on. Those cosplayers will just ignore you and play around as usual (other than posing for the camera). He and his bro try to act cool and chummy. Self praise with mock taunts. KKP as usual, acts as the Mose's Stone of Cosplay goes around with his tagging gun and tag those guys. I thot it's interesting to set a thread to ask if it's ok to cosplay Neil Gaimen or Alan Moore but it might end up maybe I might be caught in a promise that must be fulfiled. So nah. Play on the Pun.

Someone asked. WTF is with me and Inova starting on harems like as if we are opening Katong Laksa. But that's the point of it. You don't go around opening up a harem and treating it seriously. Calling people in the middle of the night to boot someone off his virtual harem is a joke. A complete sense of disregard to his image considering he wants to be a celebrity. Then again maybe he wants to portray a bad boy image. Haha. Go get caught by your wife with a small gal in compromising position. Now that's news and instant CRY: BAD BOY!!!!

Cl#ud_Tidus always starts with some weird threads and post some humour that flats out pretty quick with his occasional WRONG spelling @ the RIGHT places (and obvious he didn't do it intentionally.). And he created an ANTI-Inuyasha Fan club. WTF. However he really got cheesed off when I open a fake Gundam Hate Club. LoL. They say mockery could be a most sincere form of flattery. LoL. And here's what he post in my ANTI GUNDAM thread:

"I pity D4thday for opening a h8 club a hours later after I opened my anti-inuyasha club."

I laughed. WTF are you pitying me for???? Following you????Anyway you lose. No one is active and everyone posts because they love the anime despite lamenting it's "watever that irritates them". Over at my thread, we had a discussion on values and cliche backstories. BEAT that. My thread serves it's purpose while yours went to waste.

There's more people but I need to work on the Sat outing post.

The Host and The Devil (and she wears Prada)

The Host

With trailers running on the TVmobile about people running and running from a monster, it bound to be a great creature feature. Just that maybe no one noticed Song Kang-ho.

Yup. Song Kang-ho. A master of the stoner look in South Korean Cinema. A versatile actor of both comedy and drama.

Most people I went to watch with didn't know what to expect from other than Yuki but that's because she read FIRST (althought I also read it too). So therefore I got very confused feedback because of that. Attribute to the fact the lack of promotional materials (the poster I saw depict the scene where the girl and the boy was trapped in the sewers with the creature) and a rather misleading trailer.

Is it a comedy?Yes. A dyfunctional family always bring the giggles.
Is it a creature feature?Yes. In fact the creature had a personality.
Is it a family drama?of course. A dysfunctionate family always had issues.
Is it a socio-political satire?Of course. Most creature features had such elements.

Bundle it up and really....

It is unlike any Monster film you seen before.

So do watch it.

The Devil wears Prada

Ah yes. The Devil Wears Prada.

Thanks to some joker saying he wants to watch Monster House otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch this. He only say last minute he cannot make it and since me and yuki are already in the cinema and MONSTER HOUSE is specially reserved for HIM, there's no point for us to watch it now. At first we intend to go since we thought there's nothing we can watch and down the escalator, Yuki just mention her friend might had come if it's TDWP.

!!!!

I asked push this movie back for like the 3rd time already. Might as well watch it since it's only 10mins after the screening starts. It's not a big deal as this is not an action movie. Missing 1 or 2 mins wouldn't kill anyone.

True enough we got in to see that movie title. That means we skip hell lot of fantastic trailers. Haha. And that Open Season Cellphone reminder. And Richard Gere and his birds.

Anyway TDWP begins with Andrea getting a dream job that everyone wants but she isn't too overly keen on. It's funny but somehow a dozen of us all had that same mentality. Working on a job that you aren't too keen in.

The only problem with Andrea getting into Runway is that she doesn't fit in. It's like dorky me wotking in Towers or some place that demand you to be a metrosexual.
Picture that.
ok. Don't picture that.

Andrea start out being the second assistant to Miranda, chief editor of Runway, the headmaster of fashion. Brenda is crude, mean and stern making her a devil to everyone's eye. Oh and the second assistant had to respond the name Emily. Lol.

You don't have to be fashionable to watch TDWP. The language is simple while names were littered and some faces pop out (fashion gurus playing themselves.) Underneath it's a movie that question:

"Do you have a choice?"

SD G-Gen Portable (PSP...duH)

http://www.ggenep.com/pc/

I been watching my brother playing for like quite some time (since the 1st PS G-Gen. He is currently playing G-Gen F. Which is why the PS is still plugged in). Since I am still the PSP hogger I might as well test trial his latest purchase (but damn! GUndam Battle Royale is slated for next month's release!!! Seems my whole life is run by Gundam).

Overall the animation loads faster than the good old PS version (PS2's edition aren't that FAST too!!!) and if you select the option, you still can switch it off by pressing the START button. FMV is loaded quickly and pretty nice but if you had been playing G-Gen all these years...you get wat I mean.

I just started on the MSG scenario so it pretty much not pushed to the limits yet. All the commands are there. However for the Team Formation in Battle Options (pre battle preps), the production and assignment of MS comes across as pretty much "hidden". It took me 3 days to figure out how to call out and assign a pilot to a MS in the Captured Storage. Gone is the days where you need to move your captured units to your MS Storage before you can assign a pilot. Steps were skipped to make the game flow faster.

In addition, you no longer need to train scenario units to unlock them for the factory. Once you clear the scenario, you will get the units ready for manufacturing.
However the game will cap your progress thru capital issues but that can solved thru multiple replays of a stage and of course planning to get a Higher Haro Score (score is indicated and translated into $. Haro is to indicate Score Rank: Normal, Bronze, Silver and Gold).

It's a good thing to see that GGP is taken account of it being portable especially when it's a packed with multi-media contents. However I believe in terms of challenging the player...maybe it's not there. Simply a good ride entertainment.

That's all for the moment. Maybe I will continue coverage GGP as I progress.

The Generation of Chaos (PSP) review without screenshots or real tips...

http://www.nisamerica.com/goc/index.htm

I dunno how long since I got it but playing 1hr or 2 per day will never get you anywhere. Anyway since G-Gen is coming, I don't think I had any choice but to return the PSP to my brother. So I had been losing some sleep since the begining of last month just to clear the default scenario.

The Gena (Dravania/Main Story) campainge is actually easy (as compare to Zodia's) since the map slowly opens up thru the chapters. As Gena, you are offered to stay or join Valz of the Liberation Army in mid game. It's of course silly and futile that you actually tried building up and then destroying Dravania Empire should you join Valz. However the catch of it is there, making the difficulty up by a bit if you managed to strenghtened the Dravania Army by a considerable amount. Of course you can be an asshole, selling off all the equipments of the army, sacking (if it's possible?I never tried) off all the best generals.

Quick start tips:
- You don't need the weakness and strenght chart of the elements. Really.
- Fortified? For what? You be playing away matches 90% of the time. Just keep rushing and stay at the mid points (stars)
- Marketing is a pain. You can actually obtain better stuff by searching. However do spent your money whenever you can since there's a limit on the money you can hold.
- Your soldiers are worth 1.5 bar of the Super Gauge. If you can't beat the enemy, march them to DEATH and hope for a miracle.
- Morale is the key to all battles. Up yours and down their's.
- Alliance is to useful if you didn't want to fight 9 enemies at once. However don't make alliance with your neighbour. The com will just break alliance the moment they ran out of land to expand.
- Archers and Magic Hunters are your best defence only Pirates and Infantry can beat them.
- Captive Voice (RESTRICT EFFECT) and Lost Cause (Morale Down) are useful against bosses. You can save your 1.5 Super Gauge for mobbing the bosses.

Overall Generation of Chaos is a pretty nice ride by game althought in midst of enemies' turn you cannot save so when it is your station or stop, you cannot just exit the game and switch to music mode (MP3 playing). It does look complex because of lack of information on everything but if you rush by the game (which I believe the previous owner did) maybe it isn't so hard at all. Not a game that make Gaming Widows.

Got time?

But not everyone has. For me that is. Haha

So randomly asking what other people want to do and tag along.
Just nice tsukikage wants to do up his pc.
At least more productive than be at some random kopi thiam and generate noise.

Well. Watching Yuki do the pc isn't really productive for me.

Hell what gives, play K.o.F XI.
Wah still can lose to tsukikage, a self-profess layman. Jesus. I think I should give up playing K.o.F altogether. I had no talent for it.

10gb thru USB 1.0 is godamnit exciting especially you get to count down from 160mins at 5plus which is abt the time to get going and eat dinner.

So practically I spent the whole afternoon playing a game I already had at someone's place with the fan blowing my face. The only plus is that I don't get to be disturbed by my mum or my com. Can't be an afternoon well spent since I spent like 3hrs on the road.

The only plus side is that I finally eat Pizza in Pizza Hut. Althought the pizza isn't what I expect to be. I still like the traditional one with a thicker crust.

I am not that kind of person

"So you think what I suggested is despicable?"

Ouch.
Sensitive bitch.

All I made was a statement about myself. My own lingistic reflex is to allow fairness. I don't force or lie my way to get what I want. That's my nature. That's me. I am not that kind of person. If you eavedrop to hear what I say to my customer and give me suggestion after I said something, it's too late. I am stupid and you are smart. Then be smart and pay attention. Don't let me do all the explanation to people because I will give what I expect from other people.

Honesty.

And if you think what I said was a reflection on yourself then maybe it is. Don't 'play' concern only when you want to lecture people. Don't teach me what to do when you do nothing and claim credit for what you didn't do. If you want to take directions, go ahead, I am always game. However, judging your style, you rather wait for Astroid M to fall down and kill everyone in it than do something.

I wish...

I was a Tentacle Monster that lives by the sea.

meanwhile enjoy Hello Cthulu

The wow-choten Hotel

http://www.uchoten.com/

An entertaining Occupational Romatic-Comedy that revolves events moments before the New Year Celebration Party in a Hotel. Wait. Is it an occupation movie?Hmmm..the main characters are working a hotel. Is it a romance movie???Hmmm...now really? All the romance setup are FAILED Relationships with Near Failures (that's where the romance comes in)?Comedy???It's there alright althought it's not really a GPMG delivery. All the actors are convincing comedy actors of substance.

Didn't see Matsu Takako for like a few years. The last drama I saw her in was HERO. That's how long ago. She is the only actress I recognise by name althought most of the cast looks familar having acting bits parts in dramas I previously watched.

Strongly recommended.

Clean up....

Updated some links particularly those who stop using their old blog and got themselves a LJ.

On the subject of LJ, I wouldn't need to get one since I already got a lj and there's no point showing anyone as nobody really wants to see it since it's something that most people already had.

Oh well the new siggy regulation is by tEh KENSHIN so I upload this Mika Kikuchi for nothing. Whatever. I just stick it here. Some people got random image on their blogs anyway.

It's the cover for her latest single My Star, ED for Capeta.

2530...........????

It's funny that I actually went to something like a publicity event (actually it's a Wrap Up Celebration Dinner). I never listen to radio much and even less be going to such events.

The dinner is held at Toa Payoh that Fortune Restaurant. Funniest thing is that I bump into Spidekim. Now I see why he talk like that (like Wenhong w/o mike. My mother say he talk very loud. LoL).

The food is ok lah but it's a $20 per head dinner so you got about $20 worth of restaurant fare.

There's a award ceremony cum meet the fans session. I don't listen so the interest wasn't so there. Also the dishes are served slowly.....#$%$#@!....so listen to what they say lor...while smsing yuki because she is the only person that bothers to reply me.

Saw Kaira Gong and Chen Huihui.
Kaira Gong is so dark and skinny. Wow. The power of the camera. I wonder if Spiderkim shot her.
Chen Huihui who starts out being the uglier/cao lao actress when she was younger perhaps gain the power of modern cosmestics (or lower expectations) turns out to be quite unlike Chow Chor Meng, ageless (so you all Cao Lao looking gals don't fret. Your time is later. Lol.)

Still 2530 sounds interesting. I wouldn't mind if there are d/led mp3 for me to listen. However sounds like the concept is close to that 9pm show. Maybe the 9pm show copy it.

Movies

Nothing to type. Maybe type about what I took time to watch recently.

Dragon Tiger Gate

Oh wow. A barrel of flat humour and flying hair that swings out of control. Somebody sell them Gatsby.

In the class Small Hooligan, all 3 had their parted namely left(Tiger), left(Dragon) and right(Turbo). However in the ending scene where they all stood in front of the School after cracking an unfunny reference to having 2 dragons (which was strangely left out in the bootleg dvd my brother bought), all of them were parting on the left.

An ok show to pass them. Given the cult status, the violence level falls to the pits.
I thought they were making for children but HK censors gave it a IIB rating. LoL. I wonder what Narnia got.

My Super Ex-girlfriend

In my personal opinion, this movie is better than Dragon Tiger Gate althought it is still awful where falling out from expectation is concern. The "super" part will like 30% but not totally juiced. So was the Ex-girlfriend part. Uma Thurman is still playing aftermath KiLL BiLL derangness but her character is hollow. Luke Wilson (brother of Owen Wilson) was perhaps rope in because of his crazy Ex experience(Drew Berrymore. However she sober by the time she met him)? The ex-girlfriend part wasn't enough and you can smell the ending miles away (but there's some extra stuff threw in. Unlike Dragon Tiger Gate). The supporting cast were actually pretty good althought common tokens and stereotypes.Hmmmm...where's the nigger rapper???

Click

Surprisingly this is the one movie which I got surprised.
Despite knowing what might be the end (because it's an Adam Sandler movie. Feel good comedy).

Click revolves about leading life at the fastlane and coping with family. Most of us will know even the students will know despite not into working life yet. So it is a meaningful movie and perhaps more relevant to me than the other 2 movies. I recommend this to whoever had some time to actually watch it and decipher the simple message behind this movie.

Why don't you quit?

I asked myself many times this question before but this is one time I really want to ask someone.

You came late for work yet you claim hours to go back earlier.
Then you do a half ass cleaning up then you start to log into your bookie account, read sportpunters and post on Asianbookies with the commentaries you copied from sportpunters. Oh wow. Then you stay like glued until there are customers refusing to get any other work done. I mean how much are you paid???Huh????30% more than me and I had to split my comission with you. Oh wow. Perhaps I am not better than you in sales but you are just a slacker. Whenever there's paperwork and networking, you just push to me. Don't think I don't know the lies you told me about other people. Also don't let me know what other kind of lies you told people about me.

While I am not the best worker, I did what I had to do.
Now that you didn't even bother to help me keep my belongings and allow Serene to throw them away. She didn't know because she doesn't value books. If I want to throw things I throw myself. Why can't you ask? Why can't you sms?
You didn't let her threw away old magazines and newspapers.
You let her threw away all of whatever it is left in me to treat you with respect.

Wake up man.
It's either this job or Asianbookies.
If you love being a tipster so much why don't you quit this job?
I mean you can make millions and billions because your tips your parlays are so accurate. Just start collection money for every tips you give?Or you can't? Because you SUCK ASS in EPL. While the whole world is into EPL, you couldn't give even a good tip on EPL.
Hey wait BrO PrO, why aren't you rich yet? Everyone is fattening up their wallet with your winning parlays and tips why you are not?

Oh wait. Is it Karma? Karma comes to you smack in the face like a boomerang if you are not prepare for it. It's because you been slacking on your job that you just wouldn't get a hit if you place a bet?

And oh. Minnie. Come on lah, either she is a bait or she is a Hard Candy psycho. You already had a loving girlfriend. She isn't the perfect beauty but at least she is a beauty when given make up. Perhaps you are making up stories because you are having a blant life or just to boast you are a casanova. Oh wow. Now you are an online casanova. Reminds me why H-games existed.

Oh wow. Online supporters. Geez. What a great audiences. Come on lah. These people doesn't bother about you. Probably the people who flame you are the very boliao people who just wants to have fun. You really think there are that much people who actually really your post? For online maths, 1 view is 1 view. Not 1 person. Example 20 views might be from 3 person. You never know. Oh wow. Bro Pro. Give us some EPL tips and confirm next day lotsa people will leave home to hid from bookies.

And getting married?Come on lah. I hope your girlfriend don't get married to an illiterate net bum who likes to cheat on her for the thrill of Two-timing.

At this rate you are going, you either quit your job and move on or you quit your virtual GOD status and go on with LIFE.

Oh or I quit and left you a greaT MESS?Mmmhhh sounds good.

That's about all. Oh. And THANK YOU FOR ALL THaT w0rk you gave me which you are paid for.

Daisy

I got this movie for like ages already but I guess I forgotten about it.

So I just watch it while scrubbing the display case's Gundam collections and stuff.

Age old storyline of Killers, Love and Policemen.
The story is told 3 way. The Killer ,Park Yi, who admires Painter ,Hye-Young, and the Interpol ,Jeong Woo, who Hye-Young loves later on.
The scenry was nice. Picturesque Europe (Amsterdam) in a romantic mode.

Daisy. The daisy pot that Jeong Woo that carry with him when he sat in front of Hye-Young
Daisy. The daisy that Park Yi sent at 4.15pm everday to Hye-Young's gallery.
Daisy. The daisy field that Hye-Young painted which eventually led to Park Yi's affection.

Daisy speaks of secret admiration.
Daisy speaks of Purity, Innocence.

A good movie to watch in lazy afternoons. A romantic break from traditional Killer/Revenge movies. A tale of hidden love that gone wrong.

Cosplay Quest

Actually I got nothing to blog. I think I let Tramadoldog get onto me. Haha.

Anyway Cosplay Quest is kinda like a rehash of the other events I go to.

Performances were the same. The Indian gal who cosplay Bleach '05 went up to sang just like she did for Cosfest '06. There's Hisoka who sung that song she sang from Cosfest '06 sung minus her guitarist. She also sung that ED from Witch Hunter Robin.

Hmmm somehow here is the rant. When people are singing the least you people can do is sit still not clearing the space and then start shooting at the nearest cosplayer. It's rude. I hope all audience cosplayers ought to refuse photo taking at that moment because you are an audience too and there's plenty of time you can be shot after it. Also people, CLAP. Show some appreciation can or not? No wonder no one want to perform.

The usual Spiderkim supporter (us) just ehhhh...motion with him during the song. People think we are crazy but my ultimate plan to make him forgot how to sing haha. SK sung the OP to Flashman. Haha I thot he can only sing those new ku niang songs.

Haha Stee Van kana called up to do para para. Sugoi Neh.

The only problem I see in the MC. I never seen her before but she is worse than those 2 I saw in the EoY' 05. She know nuts about everything and she made it 'leng chang' instead of making the contestants or the audiences excited. Hope she can improve. That is if she got another chance. Stage work is cruel and if you cannot take it, that's the end of it.

Blah blah blah same old skit with Angelzhou and her OTT performance. I think there is a consistency with her online persona and real personality.

Event fin. So head for lunch.
Didn't ate a chicken chop that filling before. Cineleisure's serving is BIG (but ex. Or not too much bah). Not too bad also. Will try again. *mouth watering*

Saw spikeout (as usual) and Chrno Jing. Before we even arrive saw a gal chase a guy. LOL. Odd couple? Haha.

After lunch (or dinner?) went to plaza sing to shop for drinks and food. Bought a 1Litre Apple Juice and drunk along the way to Paradiz that side to play game. Play KOF XI. The players there look Pro but not Pro at all. Except for the gal I saw before I go. She looks like one of the Ouran cosplayer from Cosfest (the one with the wrong blue color).

Inova going to be Mori-sempai?Haha. I heard he had to carry a Hani-sempai. If it's the hani from this Cosplay Quest......Gambatte Inova!!!!Hit the gym 1st!!!

Loving You to Mayonaka To Doa

Minnie Ripperton's Loving You MV

Loving You by Minnie Ripperton

Loving you
Is easy because you're beautiful....
Making love with you
Is all I want to do....
Loving you
Is more than just a dream come true....
And everything that I do
Is out of loving you....

No one else can make me feel
The colors that you bring....
Stay with me while we grow old....
And we will live each day in spring time....

Because loving you....
Has made my life so beautiful....
And every day of my life
Is filled with loving you....
Loving you....
I see your soul come shining through....
And everytime that we....
Oh I'm more in love with you....

I first heard somewhere in some drama before but it's finally South Park that made me went to listen to the song proper. The song featured in a gag about Stan's Uncle Jimbo rigging a bomb on the mascot of the Cowboys which Stan's Cows team are suppose to play against. When Richard Stamos hits the high F, the bomb will be triggered off killing the mascot. It's especially wicked finally when Richard Stamos didn't screw up on the high F. LoL. Btw it's in the episodes from Season 1 of South Park titled "Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride"

Anyway Minnie Ripperton is amazing. The rest of her songs are worth checking. BtW, she passed away before I was born.

Here's a rendition of the same song by Jane Zhang Liang Yin, 3rd place winner of China's 1st and maybe last Idol style Singing Competition, on youtube. Here's a more polished rendition she sung in an award ceremony.

She's also sung the Opening Theme to China's version of the Return of Condor Heroes in which Liu Xifei played Xialong Nu.

To my bitter amusement, Liu Xifei sung ED theme to Powerpuff Gals Z.
Check this out. A full version with Xifei playing an escaped singer on her birthday.
And a fan's merging of the
ED sequence to her chinese edition of the same song

July movie Viewing

Nacho Libre

http://www.nacholibre.com/

Obviously it is a pure popcorn affair but still it's beautifully shot of limit sets on a sleepy Mexico town.

Jack Black is the hero of the show, a priest who always wants to be a wrestle perhaps in a desperate act of proving himself by fighting in the ring. As he continues to lose in the ring, his life gradually improves and when a shot at a exhibition match with the Best is presented to him, will he really proves his worth?

Good for snoozy hot late afternoons.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead man's Chest
http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/

If there's only 1 epic sequel you had to watch this summer, this is the movie you cannot afford to miss.

In fact after 3 weeks of screening, we only get a 4th row seat in the end. Shows how popular it is.

Strangely this movie poses a stark contrast to Nacho Libre.
Nacho Libre is more natural with some rather physical comedy thrown. Simple ingredients but enjoyable. Like some home cooked dish.
Where as in Pirates 2, is still the same enjoyment but too many ingredients thrown in.
The expensive sets were fantastics. The storyline goes in 3 directions but ultimately going back to the same conclusion. It's a great adventure movie whereby it going to windwards to the next sequel. Brillant.

However there was something in the end that was kind of worthy to discuss.

Will saw Elizabeth kissed Jack Sparrow. The truth is that Elizabeth kissed Jack in order to tricked him so that the rest of them can be saved.
Will Will (haha) forgive Elizabeth when she says the truth?
I think he will be more pissed about that than her kissing Jack.
Love is such a complicated issue.
Jeez.

This movie is a good one to sit in double bill with the first Pirates movie. However the 1st movie is very much better one. Much more focused.
Great for a day's entertainment when things are slowing down.

Shimokita GLORY DAYS

Granted that watching anime, South Park and playing Persona 3 isn't enough, I started randomly choosing drama to watch. Since Uramiya Honpo is ongoing (I seldom watch ongoing drama), I choose another Tv Toyko production that Uramiya Honpo preceded over on the same slot (meaning a 20++ mins feature that slated for adults late at night).

Shimokita Glory Days is also a manga drama. Difference is that it's a harem title. And it's not a Youth or Teens title (Lol!!!) I guess.

Effects are quite good. A comedy involving a caretaker cum student looking after/living with embodiment of sexual fantasies archtype. And boobies. Yes sir. You actually get to see boobies.

I mean what else do you expect?Blatant examples are unnecessary exposure and omake sequences during ending sequences.

Cast wise, other than the lead actor (who isn't especially good looking. Rather ugly but adorably ugly. LoL.) are an ensemble crew of gravure actress or AV actresses.

Ichitarou as Ono Yuta
- Nothing. I refuse to oblige to research on him.
- Alright. He is actually from the Synchro Boy Group (meaning the swimming boys who actually did that for a living.)

Seto Saki as Tajima Minori
- Gravure/swimsuit model
- Tv actress (actually the rest of them had experiences of TV serial roles.)

Mashiko Rie as Muroi Chiho
- Gravure/Bikini Model

Honoka as Nishina Natsume
- AV
- Provides the fanservice/gratuitous nudity

Asami Yuma as Komori Miha
- AV
- Provides the fanservice/gratuitous nudity

Yabuki Haruna as Okazaki Kaori
- Gravure/Bikini Model

Hashimoto Manami as Uehara Mao
- Gravure/Bikini Model

Sugimoto Aya as Enoki Tsuyako
- In anime otaku sense, she is better known as Queen Beryl in Sailormoon Live Action.
- Other than that, she is a versatile actress/idol singer/gravure & photography model.
- Oh and she did nude shots too (lol. Yes I know it's irrelevant)

Aoi Sora as Ichimonji Nozomi
- Sora Aoi is AV actress who also did several gravures and currently acting in other TV shows. Guess a classic case of AV actress turns good. She is winding down on her AV career I guess. She gets to keep her clothes on for this (sniggers)

Because this is considered an "adult" show so kiddos who still are regulated by ma and pa on what they are watching on tv/desktop to keep the volume down and google cast names with care (except Ichitarou. Lol.)

Uramiya Honpo

Uramiya Honpo
http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/uramiya/

It's a manga serial by defination.
Serious and heavy stuff.

Uramiya is a woman who helped people with grievence and wanted revenge.
A mysterious woman that is extremely haunting played by Kinoshita Ayumi who is having a weird hair day (I dunno the hair looks weird) and put on too much make up.

Her daytime job consist of coping people with the subject of revenge. And damn sweet when it comes.

Not suggested for small children.

Or people who cannot stand Kinoshita Ayumi looking like a hooker.

And oddly a suppose seducing scene by Kinoshita Ayumi looks awkwardly disgustingly funny.

Howdy ho!~ CartonMan!!!

Boredom and a carton box.

Taken using a suck ass camera. (I don't owned that. Whoever got that should be SAD? Bcos it totally suck ass. Suck Ass. Suck Ass. Suck Ass. Ya. You got the picyure.)
But you know the best part? The photo suck ass because it's taken by the SuckAss camera on timer. yup. The suckass photographer forgot to on the flash.

P.S. No PS is involved. Yes. Dumb Ass worn a real carton modified with pen knife. Now n00bs, That don't make Dumb Ass a cosplayer. Dumb Ass is a dress up guy. The character is CartonHead. Original Dress Up Character. Not Cosplaying. Just Horseplaying. Dressing up is NOT Cosplaying bcos Cosplaying is Dressing Up but Trade-marked meaning you get flamed and you GO TO HELL AND DIE because it's all defined by the Insiders. Majority doesn't get to win, it's the Insiders who made the final say. Whatever happened to Democracy? She worn Goth and claimed She's a Cosplayer.

Misc Stuff

1st time watch movie turn into q for fun. I am not queing so I wouldn't make much fuss.

End up eating Cartel-what's-the-name at PS.

Urgh. I should have say we go pepper lunch instead. At least I remember it taste nice.

J-dramas

oh post-Haruhi wise, I got to admit, I neglect Anime and Tokusetsu altogether. When you see a series batch around, well, just take it.

Gal Circle (gyarusa/galcir)
http://www.ntv.co.jp/gal/
http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Galcir

A cowboy in Shibuya.
A hilly billy Japanese Cowboy (don't take it as a profession. He is a screen cowboy. Kinda like Screen Ninja. They don't exist and purely stereotype) went in search for a girl who his friend an Red Indian (a Japanese Indian to be precise. Althought It's a Screen Red Indian) wants to seek before he is dead.
His search comes to Shibuya which is plagued by Para Para Girls who does nothing but create trouble to the residential shop owners (another silly stereotype).

Really the story is darn simple althought the twist and turns are hilarious and the lesson of the day was some what helpful but you just cannot help but think that only in Japan can you draft such a crap expect people to still watch it. Then again Taiwan creates more Crap than that and you still got it showing on your S'porean TV.

Fujiki Naohito is one of the actors from my generation (I guess) and he was always in Suits and Shirts as far as I can remember seeing him. So it's kinda refreshing to see him in a Cowboy suit and acting hilly billy silly.

In Shibuya (in this show) and from Sh15uya is Aragaki Yui whose face recently pops on Gundam Ace due to her involvement with Keroro Gunsou as a seiyuu (more actresses are jumping on the bandwagon. Including toku ones.)

And Toda Erika (as Saki. Every episode is about her literally) is in Death Note. Well, I will watch the movie if I want to see her on the big screen.

And there's Musume's alumni Yaguchi Mari. Still pint size as ever.

Attention Please
http://wwwz.fujitv.co.jp/AP/index.html

Profession Dramas are always a good watch but it's always been a stale format.
Get a very different rookie/newbie with a passionate attitude. Kicks aways bad habits and keeps the bond stronger. You know. That kinda stuff. Attention Please isn't any different from the Sports Manga serials Aya had been doing except rather being the bullied goody 2 shoe, she is the Punk Gal who is the Rebel.

This is one about how she turns the odds of Impossible to EXcellent (as usual).

The nice part about this is that Aya gets to be in a JAL Uniform. If you are patient enough, sit back and watch the credits as she prances about and give her megawatts smile in JAL's line of uniforms for Cabin Attendants through out the years. This is also the usual spanky, genki Aya so it's closer to who she is compare to the Sports Drama.

The supporting casts are great fun to watch. And there's the Japan Premier's (Koizumi) son in it.
He got a recurring role (but not at all meaty) as a trainee pilot who is in the job just to hook some chicks. Lol. I mean who wouldn't too?

Superman Returns

Superman returns 5 years only to find the world didn't change much only the people that was important to him was. Or apparently his last sentiment towards humanity does.

Unlike being a Marvel, Superman took the change in his life to his stride and continue to work his ass off for humanity instead of going for a melodrama shit.

And which is why Superman will continue to a hero figure to straight lace boy scouts even for this generation.

EveryMan took central stage in this movie. Althought not evident but Housebandman was in this movie. He does the chores, play with the kid, work and worries for his wife. Which one is more impossible? While Superman is a heroic vision, Housebandman is an impossible desire. Haha.

Scary Movie 4

They were right. This movie's centerpiece is the Toliet.

Anyway if you are too CLEAN, don't watch because you wouldn't understand a bulk of the jokes. Also you might not enjoy if you are not a (horror) movie junkie.

KoF XI PS2

Considering the amout spent at the arcades, a small investment is necessary I guess to curb the up-going expenses ( I spent a dollar or two everyday on KoF XI. I remember I start playing around November...thats....8x30x2 = 480. WTF. No wonder I hate doing the sums for my hobbies. $480 and I am still the noob bot guy at the arcade T-T)

Anyway I lack of a KOF title in my collection. I already had the Orochi Collection (95-97) for the Saturn and the rest on RoMs. Honestly speaking Maximum Impact looks crappy, I rather Tekken or Soul Calibur if I want a 3D game.

The arcade mode is like the same but the ps2 actually loads faster so I was pretty happy with the game. To top that Magaki can be lowered to more a retarded stage (but the rest of them are very much retarded too if you lower to difficulty lvl 1). BGM had re-arranged tracks and you get a few more match platforms mostly out doing the regular platforms.

Extra modes of play includes a Challenge Mode to challenge and hone your skills (good for people like me) and Endless Mode (kind of survival but Health Regaining is based on finishing move.)

Go search the youtube for videos...there is trailers that will bound to make you go out and get this title if you are a Fighting Fan.
