The Host and The Devil (and she wears Prada)

The Host

With trailers running on the TVmobile about people running and running from a monster, it bound to be a great creature feature. Just that maybe no one noticed Song Kang-ho.

Yup. Song Kang-ho. A master of the stoner look in South Korean Cinema. A versatile actor of both comedy and drama.

Most people I went to watch with didn't know what to expect from other than Yuki but that's because she read FIRST (althought I also read it too). So therefore I got very confused feedback because of that. Attribute to the fact the lack of promotional materials (the poster I saw depict the scene where the girl and the boy was trapped in the sewers with the creature) and a rather misleading trailer.

Is it a comedy?Yes. A dyfunctional family always bring the giggles.
Is it a creature feature?Yes. In fact the creature had a personality.
Is it a family drama?of course. A dysfunctionate family always had issues.
Is it a socio-political satire?Of course. Most creature features had such elements.

Bundle it up and really....

It is unlike any Monster film you seen before.

So do watch it.

The Devil wears Prada

Ah yes. The Devil Wears Prada.

Thanks to some joker saying he wants to watch Monster House otherwise I wouldn't be able to watch this. He only say last minute he cannot make it and since me and yuki are already in the cinema and MONSTER HOUSE is specially reserved for HIM, there's no point for us to watch it now. At first we intend to go since we thought there's nothing we can watch and down the escalator, Yuki just mention her friend might had come if it's TDWP.

!!!!

I asked push this movie back for like the 3rd time already. Might as well watch it since it's only 10mins after the screening starts. It's not a big deal as this is not an action movie. Missing 1 or 2 mins wouldn't kill anyone.

True enough we got in to see that movie title. That means we skip hell lot of fantastic trailers. Haha. And that Open Season Cellphone reminder. And Richard Gere and his birds.

Anyway TDWP begins with Andrea getting a dream job that everyone wants but she isn't too overly keen on. It's funny but somehow a dozen of us all had that same mentality. Working on a job that you aren't too keen in.

The only problem with Andrea getting into Runway is that she doesn't fit in. It's like dorky me wotking in Towers or some place that demand you to be a metrosexual.
Picture that.
ok. Don't picture that.

Andrea start out being the second assistant to Miranda, chief editor of Runway, the headmaster of fashion. Brenda is crude, mean and stern making her a devil to everyone's eye. Oh and the second assistant had to respond the name Emily. Lol.

You don't have to be fashionable to watch TDWP. The language is simple while names were littered and some faces pop out (fashion gurus playing themselves.) Underneath it's a movie that question:

"Do you have a choice?"
