Watched : Nihon Chinbotsu

Having watched the classic movie, I guess the remake will be okay. Oh well.

Nihon Chinbotsu starts with a town that was ravaged by earthquake. A lone survivor, a young girl wandered down the road. Toshio, climbing out from his car, spotted Misaki, the young girl from afar. He noticed the fuel tank of a neighbouring car is leaking badly with the fuel gushing over all over the road. Misaki in a daze is still heading down that stretch. Toshio shouted out but sensing she wasn't paying attention. He started to run towards her.

Just then, the ground rumbled. It's another tremor!

A electric post fell and instantly, Misaki is surrounded by flames.
Just then a search and rescue officer came in on a copter and hauled Misaki up.
Suddenly the cars nearby exploded.
The rescue officer came out from the flames with Misaki in her arms.

This is the best part of the movie actually, IMO.

The movie came out unfocused actually. The romance is kind of broken and like some of filler or interruption because the sinking itself is boring. It's beautiful and majestic but there's no flavour to it. You feel no pain or sense of lose for the events. They forgot the drama in between.

I am not really disappointed with it. I might be more disappointed if I watched Death Note.

The nice part is the science behind the sinking. It makes sense and I appreciate that part very much.

Oh and if people think Sinking of Japan is a flop. It's not.
It should be popular since on the same year, a movie called "Sinking of everything except Japan".
I think it's a MUST WATCH (note: when d4 jio you a movie, you better think twice. He loves bad cinema.)

Eureka Seven Vol.1 New Wave

http://bandai.namco.com/games/eureka.html
http://eureka-game.net/newwave/index.html <---- Japanese The American Edition is out but regretfully like all other anime titles, the OP sequence is a musical rather than a vocal track. Mecha combat in New Wave plays like Gundam Tactics except you get to change mode from vehicle to humaniod. There's also the Lifting game (airborne surfing in E7) and a personal mode where you had to fight outside the LFO (harsh but not surprising since MSG: OYW features a stage where you play a security officer on the White Base fighting off Zeon invaders). The game plays like an anime with you spending more time watching than actually playing. Ep 1 (stage 1) takes a long time but luckily save sessions comes often so you can go throw your Ben&Jerry once you finished it. Ep 1 is basically an extended tutorial with storyline. The LFO fights are easy since opponents are basically on the same class with you and the Map is roomy small and comfortable to fight in. Currently finished Ep 2. The game gets a straight away boost in difficulty as you had to handle more than 4 or 5 opponents all at once with lock on missles and coming at you at all angles. You also get to team up with Cpt. Holland of SOF (yes. Holland of Gekko State). The game is nothing special or really new apart that TR1: New Wave (that's wat they called it in Japan) is designed by the original crew who made the Anime which is a plus. While being a prequel, it didn't make a different from playing any other Mecha Sims/Shooter except it's 80% narration and the rest...game. The only part is that if there's a Situation mode where you can have a bit more action but it wouldn't do much other than unlocking more situation scenarios. Get this game if you like Eureka 7 very much and would like to fully enjoy the next game, Tr2: New Vision which is a direct sequel. Here's the trailer (with Realise by Flow) for the Japanese edition. Game looks more fun on trailer than playing it myself. Strange.

Watching : The Departed

So how much did The Departed depart from Infernal Affairs???

Not really much.
Other than moving the storyline to Boston.
Combining 2 characters into 1 so it can be more focused.
Removing the ingenius portions of undercover to normal in the pocket cellphone communications.

The tightness of Infernal Affairs is replaced with a more indepth view of the characters.
Jack Nicholson is more like a dominating rockstar than a fearless mob boss.
Leonardo DiCaprio is less insecure and always on the titters but not to the sense almost psychotic like Tony Leung's.
As per to Matt Damon, his Colin Sullivan is perhaps on the edge to the extend maybe his sex life is affected. However he seems to be prepared for whatever he had done. Andy Lau's is more of a confident guy until in Part III.

The Departed is more or less a good gangland film if it wasn't a transcript from Infernal Affairs.

The movie is weird in a sense that there's a TOKEN black guy. WTF you need to have a TOKEN and killing him in the END? It makes no sense.

Trying to link the 2 protagonist to a single woman (boyfriend vs the fling) was interesting concept but it didn't boil down to being as intense as it should be. (We never know whose baby it was. Could be Costigan's). It's also interesting to see that an act of guilt (of being discovered) turns out to be quickly recovered as an excuse to block off responsibility of your own action.

The Departed turns out to be relatively funny. I wonder if it's the effect of being a juvenile adult who laughs at every "fuck" uttered on screen.

Should you watch The Departed???
I don't know.
It's a good movie but somehow you just keep thinking about Infernal Affairs.

"Go fuck yourself."
"I am tired from fucking your wife."
"How's your mother?"
"Good. She's tired from fucking my father."

Best piece of dialouge in a meeting room. LOL.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

I wanna go fast!

Another Will Farrell lead movie that's a laugh a minute.
Unlike Anchorman where the movie falls between Terribly Funny and Funnily Absurd, Talladega Nights try to be spaced out funny so you don't really get hammered drunk by the jokes in one go.

The plotline is simple. Golden Boy loses shine and bounce back after he realised he can be a better person. It's the same premise in fact a with most Hollywood Comedies.

Ricky Bobby is the Star of Nascar.
"If you ain't first, you are last."
That's his motto.
Together with his buddy Cal Naughton Jr, they dominate the track.
Ricky coming in first and Cal second. (You get the picture)

Enter Jean Girrard, French F1 driver (Nascar....is NOT really fast compare to F1) and a gay. The Sportsman Rival to Ricky Bobby....and probably...has more than just Competitive Passion with Ricky Bobby.

Ricky Bobby tried to take down Jean Girrard on the track and failing to, paid the hefty price of losing his guts, fame and family.

Enter the father who didn't see him for 25 years. A racer himself, Reese Bobby tried to bring Ricky Bobby back to the road and onto the track.

Of course you can smell the ending miles away but it's a great movie.
If there's a movie you ought to watch this weekend, it's this one (following after The Departed? LOL)

Remedial Training

7th had a record on the haze.....

but 8th Morning is the clearest morning I woke up to.
I was hoping the PSI goes to the extend RT is CX.

Damnit.
I took 10 and overshot.
Overshot and back still early.
I AM NOT EAGER.

Saw Loh CS at the RT.
He also 1st time. LUcky.
At least got someone I know there.

First day not so bad lah but the OC confirm love his gym sessions.
He thot us something I know but dunno how to explain which is the shortcut to doing chin up.

Second day is practical. Meaning we be doing the actual stuff. GYM is xiong depending on which side on your preference and where the PTI is standing. Your preference means whether you want to cheat on yourside and not do the best you can.
Running too. There's hint on broadjump too.

I think I need to work on my 'core energy' since it's not emphasis upon in the RT.
Haha.

John Tucker Must Die

http://www.myspace.com/johntucker

Wow. A myspace. I didn't know they are that budgeted....(not.apparently a marketing ploy to reach to their audiences).

Anyway, John Tucker is quite a soul-less movie.
It ended up being a feature film to sell Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker) rather than a chick revenge flick. Ended with everybody won ending which can only happens in chick flicks. The movie wants to be deep but end up shallow (like MY Super EX-Girlfriend).

Shimotika Sundays

http://www.tv-asahi.co.jp/shimokita/

Yes. I am watching it strictly because Ueto Aya is inside.

Yup it's another of those occupational/hobby drama where some knowledges can be imparted. This is one about stage performances (play).

Aya-chan plays an undergrad who's from the countryside. She doesn't smile and seems happy until Shimotika Sundays gatecrash the Freshman Speech and that eventually finding her true destiny on the stage.

She had an awful haircut for ep2 but it tones down to acceptable at the end of the series. Not a very recommended series but Shimokita Sundays is lovable and enjoyable nevertheless.

The Theme song is also great. Aya-chan's latest single collection album had her singing a version of it too.

Little Miss Sunshine
http://www2.foxsearchlight.com/littlemisssunshine/

I love road trip movies as there are seldom any sequels involved. There's always a start and an end and very often humourous and enlightening.

Road trip movies always involved a bunch of people (or sometimes a pair) journeying together. Sometimes they love each other and sometimes they don't (or complete strangers). You can say there's no choice (or escape) from each other. Maybe they didn't all get all what they want but in the end and often end up with something more than what they bargained for.

Little Miss Sunshine is about a dysfunctional family involving:
- A start-up Father trying to sell his motivational program (9 steps to be a winner)
- A gay uncle who is just attempted suicide over a failed relationship
- A son who just stops talking
- A grandpa whose tips to the grandson is "Fuck a lot of women". He snorts heroin.

Just add in the hysterical mother and the beauty queen aspiring daughter and we are done!

So what's the journey for?
To enter Olive (the daughter) in the Little Miss Sunshine finals.

And so the whole family packed themselves onto the Volkswagon m

It's a great little movie and maybe slightly overhyped (or under. Depends on how you look at it) but nevertheless it's funny and endearing and perhaps you learn something at the end of this movie.

Watching....

Suppli
http://www.fujitv.co.jp/suppli/index2.html

Whatever drama I am watching recently is from a manga?
Suppli is another occupation drama.
This one involves TV Advertisement (or CMs in Japan). The world of 15 seconds.

It's stars Itoh Misaki who dwarfs most of her male co-stars when she had the heels on (or off. You don't get woman that tall to star in J-drama usually.LOL)
Previously noted for dwarfing the Densha Otoko.

And Kamenashi Kazuya (of Kat-tun. Those Johnny created male groupies.) as a part-timer/office boy.

It's a nice office themed drama with everything almost focused in the office setting.
There's the complex In-office relationship between the characters which of course makes the otherwise rather "focused" (very focused on Itoh and Kamenashi's characters) drama to be slightly relaxed (which otherwise is the charm of Japanese Drama. Unlike Sg made or k-drama).
Suppli also tried to introduced the world of CM production to viewers, which is very informative too.

Itoh Misaki is more lovely and real over in Suppli compare to the dream-like woman in Densha Otoko. And there's the funny 4 panels that comes to her mind whenever she is considering some of her personal (romance) things. Which shows....CM is never off her mind???

A note to be taken........there's no picture of Kamenashi on the official website......AT ALL. Weird huh???Is it a Johnny's thing??????
But that's good because you get lotsa Itoh's.......*drools*

Counting down

Counting my days till it's over.

"Our company is reviewing our business strategy everyday."

You know that's the funniest thing I ever heard from a manager. I mean if you want to say

"Hey we need to pull out before we lose more money".

I think it's fine. But

"Our company is reviewing our business strategy everyday."

sounds like it's a plan that was made when Andy is squatting in the toliet bowl and Chan went ,

"Hey we need to pull out before we lose more money".

outside the door.

Whatever it is, it means I never be able to rat on the Pro-Titster.
Anyway that bugger became worst like some menopause bitch after he heard the news.
He say Jess got a better offer and when she left to work for Christine, he say he is still getting the same so WTF do they think he is. Wow.
That's a bottle full of bullshit.
WTF do you think you are????
Come on and be realistic and do your job and probably people will just give you the reward.
Be a prissy and a bitch, they just pay you to tide things over. You just know.
Fuck and get over with. Like a whore.

Everything becomes a rush because someone is being a bitch. Ok lor. So be it. I will do it.
You are paid 30% more than me and yet I got to clean after you.
God Bless You on your new job.
I hope.
Because I'm so afraid that you might be a real net addict and then. Stop working altogether
(oMG I'm so mean).

Anyway now I am at CTP. Wow. This place is like heaven. All I need to do is to serve customer and not worry a shit (or until I got lay off)

Speaking of which......I am so tired!!!!!And 8th of Oct is coming and I hardly work out yet....LoL.
