Anime Now & Dali Sculptures (17.09.06)

Pray tell, am I an exciting arts person or a boring arts person?

I think I am a boring arts person since I dragged a couple of people to a dull Anime art exhibition. Lucky for some others, they managed to escape this fate due to oversleeping, homework and other commitments I don't know and don't want to know.

Anime Now is an anime exhibition showing drafts, cels, posters and merchadise. There's a great video on Cel animation that is likely comes bundle with the Jin Roh DVD but WTH since I am there might as well watched it. There's also one with a stakeout on pirated anime goods in HK sometime back 2002. Video on Akiharaba the Holy City of The Otaku (not exactly...haha). Co-Co did an awareness drive in a corner with a scrath built Destroy Gundam. Then there's screening of videos of the various studios. Anime is hardwork. I wonder if Singaporean can take upon this kind of task.

After Retsu came we went to that prata shop with the "BEST SERVICE" in Middle Road.
As usual, prata is served but not without issue. Of course. Not at the best speed. Beats the other time round however.

Crossing the junction to meet Chrno_jing and her group. LoL. But before that Retsu met a gal from NP or NYP. That joker only got $5 note and he donate it!!!!(He actually want to ask if we want to contribute together???). End up tsukikage and me chip in more to get a magnet photoframe (Enquire for it!!!!!Write in!!!SMS!!!!Only 1 and laying around at home!!!!)

Went to UOB Building at Shenton way.

Other than the Tribute to Newton, there are 4 more sculptures to view over there. That's the 1st stop. Here's the photographs, taken with my helpless little Panasonic VS2 camera.

Tribute to Newton

Surrealist Piano

Unicorn

It's kinda funny when you see a kid sitting on the "virgin" and stepping her all over.
It's US$480,000 for goodness sake!!!!!

Horse Saddled with Time

Space Elephant

Due to limited access to the side entrances, I am unable to view Woman Aflame upclose.

Next we took a hike to Capital Tower.

Dance of Time II

St.George And The Dragon

oh and the security was about to come over...

The fountain art work in front of Capital Tower (Not Dali)

Finally we are suppose to end the day with dinner but in the end kind of zombie and end up at Chinatown and parted there (w/o dinner).

I still left the 3 other sculptures at Orchard Road yet to view. Ah well, I am going to move into CTP anyway, I think I will take a look at them during break.

For the Salvador Dali Sculptors, they will be on display till Oct 14. View it since it might be long before you can view them over here in Singapore.
