(DVD) Justice League: The New Frontier

I finally got this (Thanks Bernie!!!)

Yes, I had to get her to get it from Australia all the way back.
Local Stores didn't stock this on shelf and they didn't have any of those DC Animated Video DVDs in abundance until recently with Batman: Gotham Knight & Superman : Doomsday.

Guess the stock purchaser made their own judgement on this title. After all, the Darwyn Cooke art style is good enough to make them think it's a Hard to Sell title. Indeed it's not stylistic in comparison to perhaps Anime or the Justice League Animated Series. Still the charm of the book lies in Darwyn Cooke's art. In their defense, they did put out a VCD (with a slightly attractive cover) that didn't came with the extras.

The Animation is slick and good. While there is some attempt to do a faithful page to frame translation, some changes were made and I am not sure if it was made in favour to the movie. They tone down on the political issues but they kept the Vietnam S vs W/Man vs Woman scene.

Lucy Lawless did good on the "Big" Wonder Woman. I can't say if it's all good with the other good "celebrity" voice actors however I felt it was a vast improvement over Superman Doomsday. In fact to a certain amount, New Frontier was better than the "Anime" Dark Knight.

The animation did outstandingly best at the closing epilogue of the book which is the clip that follows.
